The Leica SP5 resonant scanning multiphoton cofocal microscope is currently capable of imaging both fixed and live cells on slides or glass-bottom petri dishes.  Instrument specifications:

• Leica DMI6000CS (inverted)
• 'the box' enclosure for temperature regulation as well as CO2 and humidity control
• Motorized scanning stage for multi-point imaging and tiling
• Resonant scanning capabilities (up to 8000 Hz)
• 2 PMT and 3 HyD detectors
• Spectra Physics Mai-Tai tunable pulsed near-IR laser (690 - 1040 nm) for multi-photon applications
• FRET, FRAP, and FLIP as well as ratio imaging can be done
• Filter sets for DAPI, FITC, and TRITC

• Laser lines:
  • 405 nm diode
  • Argon (458, 477, 488, 496, 514 nm)
  • 561 nm diode
  • HeNe 594 nm
  • HeNe 633 nm
