Activity Monitoring and Exercise

The AMBC has the capabilities to measure both voluntary and involuntary locomotor activity.

Open Feild

  • Measures up to 2 mice or rats simultaneously

  • Ability to define specific zones inside the field

Voluntary Running Wheels

  • Measures up to 24 mice simultaneously

  • 24 hour around the clock data collection

  • Data includes information on circadian rhythms and spontaneous voluntary activity

  • Equipment records wheel revolutions

  • Animals housed in shoebox style cages

Homecage Activity

  • Measures up to 24 mice simultaneously

  • 24 hour around the clock data collection

  • Equipment records general homecage activity via infrared light beams

  • Analysis can be customized and allows for an in depth look at activity/exploration

  • Regions of interest inside the homecage can be set to look at activity in specific areas

  • Detection threshold settings can be set to look at sleeping/resting behavior

  • Test is carried out using the TSE Systems Phenomaster/Labmaster so metabolic/drinking/feeding data can also be collected simultaneously
