Mardi Gras Smoothie
Makes 4 smoothies
Green Smoothie
- ½ avocado
- ½ banana
- ½ cucumber, peeled
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 4 oz apple juice
- 1 tsp agave or honey
- ½ tsp vanilla
Gold Smoothie
- 1 cup pineapple, canned, drained, juice reserved
- ½ cup reserved pineapple juice
- ½ cup yellow squash, frozen
- 1 banana
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
Purple Smoothie
- 1 cup blueberries, frozen
- 2/3 cup purple cabbage, shredded
- 1 banana
- 1 kiwi, peeled
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- ½ cup water
Directions
- Blend the ingredients for the green layer until smooth and divide evenly between 4 glasses. Place the glasses in the freezer for 8-10 minutes while preparing the gold layer. Make sure to rinse the blender between layers.
- Blend the ingredients for the gold layer until smooth. Remove the glasses from the freezer. Using a spoon drizzle the gold layer on top of the green layer. Return the glasses to the freezer for 8-10 minutes while preparing the purple layer. Make sure to rinse the blender between layers.
- Blend the ingredients for the purple layer until smooth. Remove the glasses from the freezer. Using a spoon drizzle the purple layer on top of the yellow layer.
