Military Health Behaviors: Weight Measurements and Standards for Soldiers

Funding provided by U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

April 2007 – September 2008

The purpose of this study is to reduce the proportion of soldiers who fail to meet Army requirements for body fat. The “Army HEALTH: Healthy Eating, Activity, and Lifestyle Training Headquarters” program is designed to promote healthy nutrition and physical fitness to participating soldiers. An interactive website is the highlight of the program. The Military Services Fitness Database (MSFD), an electronic database developed by PBRC to record and store fitness scores and measurements, will be used to determine the effectiveness of the program.
