We are always in need of more neuroscientists who are proficient in neuroanatomy or in generation of animal models for CNS diseases, particularly stroke and spinal cord injury. We also welcome cell biologists who are experienced in trafficking studies and advanced fluorescent imaging. There is nothing more rewarding than helping promising young researchers to establish their own careers by sharpening a variety of skills in our lab. Our working environment Baton Rouge is the capital city for the State of Louisiana. It is located on the east bank of Mississippi River, about 100 miles before it enters the Gulf Coast outside New Orleans. Baton Rouge is a garden city with southern charm and hospitality. There are swamps, gardens, lakes, bird sancturies, and plantations. PBRC is ten minutes from the main campus of Louisiana State University, where many high quality musical events, sports, and other part of campus life are vibrant. Besides cultural university events, Baton Rouge has its own professional symphony orchestra and also opera. Our BBB Group has one of the best lake views from the spacious lab in the beautiful new research building. There are plenty of opportunities to interact with other researchers in both the basic and clinical research wings, free-style as well as weekly lectures and seminars. There is easy access to all the core facilities in PBRC (Animal, Imaging, Genomics, Proteomics, etc.). The best thing that we are proud of is that we select the best people and form a cohesive group. Loners and non-productive researchers are persuaded to search for better opportunities before long.
